Interpersonal relationships play crucial roles in our growth, development, physical and emotional health, happiness, and success.
Sharing experiences and stories, having them
validated, and validating those of others is one of the most important ways to promote emotional growth, change, and healing and to
build, maintain, repair, and improve interpersonal relationships.
HPI is dedicated to providing material to develop understanding of the many tools and processes available to connect with self and other toward building, maintaining, repairing, and
improving interpersonal relationships.
In addition HPI is dedicated to develop discussion and report experience that advances understanding of the tools and processes for building, maintaining, repairing, and
improving interpersonal relationships.
In the quest for emotional and relationship health, many will turn individually or together to professional help. HPI will provide general information on the two main sources of professional help--
talk therapy and
medication--as well as
combination therapy (talk and medication together), identify several of the emerging
body centered therapies, and provide links to professional organizations.
Still other relationships, in which emotions are extremely volatile and poorly regulated and one or both inflict physical and / or emotional abuse, more immediate help is often necessary through a
hotline or crisis intervention center.
The focus for HPI is
healing partnerships--interpersonal relationships in everyday life -- that make growth,
change, healing, and
improving relationships possible.
